Rattrapante vs fly back chronograph

Which is the more ‘high level’ complication flyback or rattrapante?

Rattrapante

Flyback is more useful in day to day use in my opinion.

A split second chronograph however is an Engineering marvel. In terms of complexity it even exceeds the tourbillion.

It’s a tough decision. I think I’d go with the flyback, just because there are more watches to chooses from.

That is also one reason why you see a lot of cheap Chinese tourbillions but no split second chronographs (at least I‘m not aware of any).

The Swiss watch industry is hyping the tourbillion as extremely complicated to push the prices of a watch.
