Citizen Tsuyosa Review

Stumbled upon this on ebay. Was looking for a replacement field watch since I sold my Boderry Voyager. Was stunned by the green dial of this Tsuyosa or model NJ0150-56X. The price was alright so without hesitation I hit the purchase button. I surprised myself, to say the least. Had a couple of field watches on the potential by list. An integrated watch, let alone a Citizen T was not on my mind. Did it meet my expectations?

Case:

Stainless steel. Both polished and brushed areas. 40 mm widh and 9 mm between the lugs. The finishing is good, especially considering the price of th watch. Great proportions and really comfortable to wear. Sapphire crystal.

With 50 WR I will keep it from water.

Dial:

Deep green. Metallic finish but not quite "sunburst ". Really pops out in the sunlight. Applied silver indicies with white lume. doubles in the 12 and 6 position. Thin sword style hands with minimal lume. Goes very well with the dial and case.

Bracelet:

Stainless steel with a push button fold over clasp. Nothing special but ties in well with the overall aesthetics of the watch. Comfortable. Ease to resize thanks to the push out pins in the first links. Downside is that the replacement options are limited due to the watch style and small lug width. I'm happy with the stock bracelet.

Movement:

Mechanical self winding. Caliber (Miyota) 8210. 21 jewels, 21.600 vph. Hacking. 45 hours of power reserve. Nothing fancy but does the job.

Conlution:

A reality well proportioned good looking watch. The dial colour is what really makes it stand out. With an automatic movement, stainless steel finishing and a sapphire crystal it is a real bargain. This one will get some serious wrist time. The crown is small, even for my slender fingers. It's hard to set date and time. Too fiddly.

  • Amazing dial colour
  • Well built
  • With the specs it's a bargain, considering the competition
  • Small crown makes it unnecessary hard to set
  • The seconds hand jumps all over when setting the time

I love the orange Tsuyosa but all version seems 🔥 as well.

Thank you for a much more honest review than all those 4.8 reviews. I wanted to buy it but it felt too thick, but the price is great and we have all colours available near me, so maybe I might pick it up sometime.

I absolutely love mine! I was lucky to be one of the few who received colour matching accessories - notepad & pen, travel roll, sunglasses case, and even a cookie 😂

I didn't get the thickness numbers. It's 11.7mm. Pretty slim on the wrist.

That is truly a stunning green. Might want to put a green band on it!

Will need to be custom made since the bracelet is integrated
