Watch Adventures

So it was off to the Omega boutique to buy what admittedly is an over priced key ring to match the new car, red that is. Luck was with me as the had one left in stock. See, I would have gotten the key ring back in April when we got the car but it took till now for the second key to arrive, chip shortage and all that. But while there I saw the Seamaster 300 Summer Blue and it is gorgeous. I should have snapped a picture out of the case but my photos need work so….

Just absolutely stunning in person and the first Omega that I really like since before Covid. Of course I tried it on and the bracelet fit so oh dear. I would have walked out with it but for one thing, that being the next stop.

The opportunity to purchase a Mont Blanc Geosphere brand new at a ridiculously low price came along so I took it as I have always wanted one since release. The watch arrived the previous day and much to my delight all the factory protective wrapping was in place.

Of course the damn thing doesn’t fit so I said no problem, off to the Mont Blanc boutique to get some links. I was wearing my other MB just because and one of the specialists recognized it. I remarked they had helped me before with the strap, extra long, and they lamented corporate policy was different now and they stocked nothing. They were dissapointed, I was disappointed so they ordered several links and now we wait. The downside. The upside is that I found out it is a traveler GMT in addition to world timer, a big plus in my book. Besides, those hemispheres are just too cool.

I took the lack of links as an omen and put the Seamaster on hold after adjourning for an adult beverage or two. Probably the prudent thing to do right now even being claimed to be “alotted”. It’s online. Besides I have to keep the Batgirl fund fully loaded and ready and funds have to come from someplace.

Then today I was in TJ Maxx perusing the jewelry/watches, yes I know, big step down, when this lady happen to ask me if I knew why the watch she was holding wasn’t running. I looked down to discover an automatic Invicta. Asked to see it, rolled the wrist a few times and voila, running watch. So she asks why the crown doesn’t move so I explained and showed her how to use a screw down crown. They went through the three positions and how to set it, blah blah blah. Anyway it was fun and I think I spread a little understanding of an sutomatic watch. Good experience.

Been a fun two days.
