Omega’s New Regulation System

I just heard about the Omega Spirate System and was wondering if any others had heard about it. It allows a watchmaker to adjust silicone hair springs for superior regulation of -0/+2 seconds. The SuperRacing Speedmaster is the first watch to use it.

Personally I am looking forward to being able to buy a watch with this system. You can just imagine what the Spirate System combined with non magnetic construction and a coax movement will do for rate results.

I’ve read somewhere that Omega is striving to make mechanical watch movements with quartz accuracy. The Spirate balance wheel, coupled with the coaxial escapement, will get them very close!
