Top 5 and why

Someone asked me what 5 watches would i keep and why. Now this was the easiest list ever, each watch carries a personal story. So here it goes: 1. Tag Heure f1, although not the watch I originally purchased back in 2011. It is the f1 model, I bought the original watch cash. It was the first big purchase that wasn’t car related! As a young kid I fellow love with f1 Racing and remember watching the Ferrari team and at the time Tag was one of their sponsors. Funny how life turned out, I’ve been working and building cars ever since I was 17 alongside some of my friends. This brand will forever be held in my heart. 2. Hamilton khaki pilot pvd, my best friend has been a avid Watch collector for a while. Owning several beautiful pieces he just didn’t click with this. One day hanging out smoking a cigar he gifted me this bad boy and it’s been in my collection ever since. 3. Oris pro diver titanium, another watch from my best friend. He had bought a jeep rubicon and needed some help doing some custom work, so we spent the day working on his jeep. He asked me how much he owed me, he then goes “I got that oris you like”.. well the oris was worth way more than what I was going to charge him lol.. score. 4. Seiko mm200, aside from being one of the best looking divers out there. This watch i got on a trade from someone who seem a pic of my watch from the water fires in our state and we instantly became buds.. after chatting and getting to know each other we did a even trade for my mido oceanstar, but the best part of the stories that he is a custom watch builder and I’ve seen his builds get better and better and has built a few for myself too.. 5. The speedmaster, this was my 43rd birthday gift, a grail for some of us! Went to the Waltham watch museum in Massachusetts and did a tour and was amazed to see such Watch history an hour away from home. Unfortunately not soon after my wife and I split, it rocked my soul. But the show had to continue, I gathered myself. Realizing I was stable and in a good place in life and in my mind I kept everything. Including my son, so every time I put on the omega it’s a sign that I made out of one of the worst times of my life. Please share your top 5, thanks for reading.

I appreciate your collection, the story is a reminder of how fragile life is. Rough patches are just that, and I’m glad you made it through that difficult time.

Have a look at my five on my profile. I reduced from 13 to five I wear in rotation my others I don’t really count anymore or post.

I also have an F1 but don’t wear as it’s to small “ boys “size but is my first purchase as a teen so I kept it.

My first one’s very easy as it was my 30th birthday present from my wife. My Certina 125th Anniversary edition DS80 Powermatic.

Image

After that it gets a but harder and changes all the time, but today I’ll say my Clemence Photic Diver as the brand is based in my hometown of Edinburgh.

Then, and this might partly be because I’m in the honeymoon phase with this, my Raymond Weil Freelancer gmt Worldtimer.

I’m going to want a chronograph and my favourite just now is my Le Jour Rally Monte-Carlo.

And my final choice is my favourite field watch my Echo/Neutra Averau Big Moon.
