I am a huge fan of Squale and have 16. It is a brand with heritage and good value for money. The 1521 is iconic IMO, wears more like a 40mm and has short lugs that angle down to give a comfortable fit. The Sub 39 is lovely but it wears more like a 40mm as the case is 39mm but the bezel overhangs. The Super Squale is an excellent choice for a smaller wrist........ a few of mine below.
I do like a Super Compressor "style" watch and I've had quite a few over the years. I don't think Baltic has been mentioned yet, Christopher Ward make a nice actual Super Compressor and I'd second the Dan Henry suggestion above. My current three are a non-date Legend Diver, Baltic and a 1968 Ancre Super Compressor.

I have the 2531.80 and the black BB58. The BB58 is a well built watch and lovely to wear but for me the Omega is the winner. Mine is 17 years old, runs at +2 secs per day and has a build quality that is first class. It is all down to personal preference but both are an excellent choice.
commented onBuying your grail - Is it what you thought it would be·
My grail was a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, which I have had for three months and it is everything I expected and more. The only issue, is that I thought getting the grail would then mean no need or wish to get anymore........ that unfortunately hasn't been the case as I've since bought a Squale 2002...........
I used to keep to 12 which worked for me but then got up to 20. At that point I stopped counting and now have over 50. I do have some favourites but have none that I want to lose from my collection.......
