California dial info (how & why)

I thought it was in connection to sales people circulating back in the day in California where the half and half dial allowed the sales person to show the differences of each dial style…and the name stuck. No idea if that’s true but I’m sure someone will know.

I also think that there are different stories about this Dail. But that somehow it was a showcase dail for what is possible to choose seems logic. Therefor I bought that story. The story about stabilizing the radiation seems more off …. But it is also a good story. So I go with this one as THE explanation for the dail name 😋
Hmmmm ... no offense, but "dial" is not spelled "dAil". I have a thing about butchering the English language LOL!!
What is it with the current trend in advertising to use nouns as verbs? "It's time to Toyota" or "We all soup", etc. ... drives me insane!!! My elementary school English teacher must be turning in her grave! LOL!

No worries my friend! I live in eastern "Kanuckistan", where native English speakers have MUCH less of a command of the language than you!
My elementary school English teacher was a bit of a grammar "Nazi" ... I guess some of that must've rubbed off! LOL!

Jep, hard to get new these day. Almost sold out. But found one online to a very attractive price point. This is the Spinnaker Hull California Chronograph SP-5092-11. First choice was de fumee blue dial but was not to be found.
