Car boot find

Came down south to the seaside and found this vintage Oris at a local market/car boot, definitely seen better days, but seems to be keeping time fairly well, and with some polywatch and a new strap could be a lovely dress watch despite the signs of use. Anyone on the crunch reckon they can help me out with identifying this one? The dial says "Oris Super" and "17 Jewels", and of course, "Swiss made". It's a silver dial with gold and black indices, and Arabics at the quarter numerals. Gold plated, although this plating has also seen far better days.

Paid £15 for this one, which I think is a brilliant price

Since when do cars wear boots? /s

Anyway 15 quid is an excellent deal!

Hi there,

The price is really great.

I would advise you to service it or at least check and lubricate it since older movements are pretty sensitive to not having enough lubrication when used.

cheers

I'm going to take the strap off, clean it, and check the lubrication when I get home next weekend, for now it seems to keep time well so not a total dud. My guess is it's from the 60s so I would assume the previous owner would have serviced it at least once in that time period or it would have likely stopped entirely
