Better late than never

The Navitimer has been a grail watch on my short-list for many years. The 41mm options are limited compared to the others. I finally found a very nice used model on eBay at a decent price. It went thru the eBay authenticity inspection and I have nothing but good things to say about that process. I ended up with a guarantee card including date / serial number in a well packaged box. It showed up on a bracelet; however, this is one of the few watches I prefer on strap. To me, Breitling straps are top tier and there is no suitable aftermarket replacement for this model. I ordered an original from a Breitling AD. It looks and feels great but I have a major complaint directed at Breitling. The leather strap was over $500 after tax / shipping and it did not come with any spring bars. WTF???!!! Like everyone else on here, I have many laying around but I would much prefer to have factory-spec spring bars on a watch like this. Surprisingly, the spring bars from the bracelet didn't work and I had to substitute some extras from a spare parts drawer. Anyway, I do love the watch and I am thrilled to finally have one.

My CFI is current but inactive. 1996 was the last time I had to teach pivotal altitude. I can still do basic multiplication and division on an E6B.. Put ground speed on outer ring over the top inner pointer (60) and distances on the outer ring will read over times on the inner ring. Anything past that, I'm breaking out the iPad.

Congratulations for the acquisition of this beauty.. I have always been fascinated it but cannot pull the trigger on #breitling. Would have loved to have something like this during my early college exam days when only a few knew it’s a calculator dial.. but then I barely could afford a calculator..

Congratulations on the Navi! Check out Etsy for NOS Breitling straps, they've got quite a few for less than $100, including the clasp, and usually spring bars lol.
