Cabot Watch Company / CWC 1980 Royal Navy Diver Re-issue

This purchase began last spring when I put a down payment toward a limited quantity future-build scheduled for the summer of 2022. Due to supply restrictions it was delayed multiple times until it finally arrived just before winter. I put a picture on here when it showed up. Unfortunately, it quit working the following week. Somehow I ended up with an ETA 2824 that found a way to completely seize up. It was sent back to Europe for repair which took a couple months. After that it got shipped to the wrong address. Fortunately, DHL was able to stop the delivery and hold it when Texas got hit with a winter storm which further added to the long delay. It finally found me again a few weeks ago. I had more than a little contempt toward the entire situation as it was a lot of money, a lot of waiting and a lot of endless frustration. Having said all that, CWC customer service always answered their phone and they were very diligent at fixing the situation as it unfolded. They have many cheerful customers and I just had a run of bad luck. After finally getting some much need wrist-time, it was well worth it all. This Mil-Sub is one of my favorite watches. Pictures don't do it any justice. I love having fixed lugs without the headache of spring bars. It's the tool watch that Rolex and Tudor used to be (and I'm a fan of both of those brands).

That's quite a headache. I salute your patience, because if it were me, I would have set someone on fire. Wonderful watch and I'm sure it was well worth the wait.

Having owned a CWC black auto SBS I can second your opinions, they are a great tool watch

This is a great reissue, I really like them. It's too bad that you had to deal with all the headaches of getting a warranty claim, but I'm glad to hear that they got it to you eventually.

Also I dread it when I see that things are shipping DHL, I've had more bad luck with them, than any other shipper.
