Just read about this in other forums...who's excited about the new SMP and AT releases? The new Aqua Terra is very bad news for my wallet. :)

It’s a great watch, but unless Omega want to ditch the He valve, I’ll never be excited about an SMP.
I’m excited to see what they come out with.
I didn’t know they were bringing another one out. I’ve just literally bought the Green SMP…. Doh 🤦🏼♂️

Could not agree more, the He valve is just stupid, I work in the pro diving industry and there is no way even a pro diver would wear this watch in saturation.

I’m totally about badass watches that are overkill for what I’m actually doing, but this…there’s just nothing badass about it. It hangs off the side like an extra crown but literally doesn’t do anything. And bash Rolex all you want, at least they managed to hide the thing. Whatever, I guess people are hungry enough for a high-end dive watch that isn’t a Rolex to ignore the thing.

I don’t think the new release is different in design, just a commemorative caseback from what I’ve read; and the green SMP is so good too!

And I 100% agree that’s important. It’s certainly in Omaga’s favor that they will actually sell you a watch even though Rolex would never stoop so low.
But it’s still a thingy hanging off the side of the watch for no good reason. It takes away some charm from what is otherwise a very good looking watch. The fact Omega managed to make a good looking diver that looks nothing like a Sub is impressive.
