Armani... Seiko and Casio

My brother-in-law asked me to adjust the bracelet on his Armani watch yesterday, which I said I'd happily do for him. He has no interest in watch specifics like movements etc. But bought the Armani watch because he liked the look of it and knew the Armani brand. I then started briefly talking to him about how I found its size a little too big for me. He then said "I've got these two other smaller watches tucked away at the back of a draw, don't know what watches or brands they are". He then came back with a lovely Seiko 5 and a Casio f91w. He can't remember where these watches came from. My exact words were "oh wow, what?". The fact that I think these watches are far superior is besides the point, I just think it's interesting how non-watch enthusiasts pick watches and don't pick others, based on what they like the look of/what makes them feel good. Which is fair enough I suppose. I guess it further emphasises the whole "wear what you like" moto. I put the Seiko on a leather strap for him because the bracelet didn't fit him - so hopefully it will get more wrist time now :)

It does emphasis that. It's funny that the average Joe would see a designer brand, as more desirable than a Niche watch brand. He may like the way it looks, but I reckon the "Armani" brand was part of the draw. You never know, with you dressing the Seiko up, he may catch the bug and develop the full blown illness 🤓🤣
