Which Explorer would you choose?

I’m having a hard time deciding. I’ve wanted an E2 since I first laid eyes on the Polar back in the 80s. I liked the Explorer but dismissed it as too small for my wrist (19cm 7.5in). Now the 40mm has changed everything. If you were to choose only one which would it be?

I’d go with the explorer 36mm over the other 2 though… 😅

I wear a 36 mm Explorer and love it. If my wallet and wrist could handle the Explorer II I would have one as well!

Split the difference and get the 39mm Tudor explorer?

White dial all day long.

I'd go with the 42mm Explorer II because I've loved that watch for a long time, I like bigger watches, and I like the GMT complication. And it just looks better imo. (but I'd go with the black dial variant)

36 is just too small for me. Even the 39 doesn’t feel right.

That’s the daydream but the reality is there can be only one.

Gotta choose the 40mm Explorer. It's one of the most versatile watches to this day

Since posting this poll I’ve had the chance to try them both on a few times…. Still can’t decide.

@DeepCmonkey I can see your comment but can’t reply for some reason….

You aren’t wrong.   I was really surprised at how big it felt in comparison to my 41.5mm SM300.  It’s making me seriously consider a 16570 instead but I haven’t been able to find one locally to try on.  I also like the drilled lugs on the earlier ones.

I have “popeye” forearms and 7.5” wrists; because of that all watches wear below my wristbone.   The 226570 crown definitely digs into the back of my hand when I flex it back.

On the flip side I really like the specs and chroma light on the newer model.
