Seamaster 300 accuracy after a summer of travel

I’ve been on the road for the last 6 weeks and decided to check on how accurate my Seamaster 300 has been. Before I left home I set the watch within 1/2 a second of NIST (time.gov). Since then I have moved 3 time zones using the jump hour and been on a boat, in and out of oceans, pools, crazy heat and frigid air conditioning. Over 45 days the watch has gained 67 seconds. That averages out to about 1.5 seconds a day. What’s interesting is that at one point it was closer to 7 seconds fast but as the weather has gotten cooler (traveling north) it has slowed a bit. The watch has been a fantastic travel companion and dresses up as well as it swims. The only issue I have had was with the lume on the aluminum bezel. As you may have seen in my previous post huge chunks of the lume fell out after swimming in a particularly caustic swimming pool. I am passing by an Omega boutique tomorrow and will post an update about how they handle the warranty claim.

Thanks! I’m totally smitten with it.

I can see why. Imo that’s the best looking Seamaster.

Urine eats lume? Who knew?

Thank you! The mesh really changes it up. Gives it a rugged look.

I am very sorry for your loss.

Looks great and an average of +1.5 sec/day is👍... Then I read the post about lume in the bezel falling out after getting it wet... ugh, I would have expected better from Omega.

Thanks!

It was a bit more extreme than getting wet but still completely unacceptable.

The accuracy of these coaxial movements is startling. My 300 Heritage runs at approximately 0.72 seconds per day fast averaged out over long periods of time.
