Thanks, I think returning it is going to be my option, although living in canada I am going to lose on shipping on both the return and the initial delivery and am going to have to fight with dhl for return of duties and sales tax. Thanks for the info, as much as I like the watch, I don't want another problem facing me in five years or more. Shame on ETA IMO. There is also a youtube video of a reviewer where the chrono hand sits three seconds off of twelve when parked.
I knew of the plastic parts but figured that there would be replacement parts available if need be. Perhaps I will save for the prx chronograph.
This has me worrying about my seastar powermatic 80, it too has some plastic parts in it's eta movement.
I wonder about this and watches that come with such coatings already applied. Ten years from now when that coating if fading or is cloudy or flaking, how difficult is it to remove it?
Lol, I guess I will be returning the tissot chrono after all. The top pusher I was having trouble with just popped out. I can put it back in and work the chrono, but it won't stay in. Obviously the part on the case that holds the stem of the pusher in is either broken missing or defective. Sigh very disappointed. Will see how jomashop honers returns and/or warranties.
I think most people can afford a grail watch like a submariner or speedmaster. I mean look at how many people living in normal home scenarios own 20k harleys or 13k snow mobiles. It's just your preferences or lol perhaps how many other hobbies you might have.
However, I may be in a minority, I fail to see how any watch a mear bit of technology no matter how intense or intricate that can fit in a container the size of an ounce, and if not containing any precious metals of jewels can cost more than 10k. Just my opinion.
I own the older seastar, the one everyone complains about the bezel number on, and I love it. Recently I bought the tissot T106.427.16.051.00 mechanical automatic chronograph that jomashop has on sale for $329, got mine for $304 with a coupon. I almost returned it because for the love of me I couldn't get the top chrono pusher to work. Sometimes it would click and others it wouldn't. It almost seemed you had to push a tad on the side of it as well as in. But it seemed to right itself and works as it should now. Excellent buy if one wants a cheaply priced mechanical chrono, seagull ST-19 price level. I think of mine as the poor man's omega automatic speedmaster. Lol not the professional of course. A bit big at 45mm and 15 high, but mine wears as quite well on my slightly less than 7" wrist. So to answer, my thoughts on tissot. Excellent company and a good list of models to choose from.
