A 33mm 1960s LeCheminant Skymaster. LeCheminant made their name providing timepieces for the Royal Navy before focusing on watches in the 1950s. “Jobbers” - but quality jobbers. 25J ETA automatic in this.

Lovely watch. Brands like this with history, are probably the reason I am teetering on the edge of the vintage rabbit hole. I must do more research before spending more money though

I don't need any more watches (most of us don't), but it exactly watches like this that make me check eBay with regularity. It is not going for too much like an Omega or Tissot would. It was bought for next to nothing at an estate sale and someone wants to turn around a quick profit to nuts like us. What do we get: a quality movement and a great aesthetic. On wrist it will look much better than in any photo. These wrist shots highlight age. At an arm's length it is a flash of gold that let's you know when to get to your next appointment. This sort of watch is the appeal of vintage to me. It is the hunt. Anyone can walk into an AD and buy a watch or order something off of the internet. This is a skill.

This is a skill

a very niche skill, but it is definitely a skill. 😂

Tree trunk arms and tiny watches is also a classic look.

I am a mood, this is a flex, and all this is a skill is essentially my new mantra.
