30mm Rotary Supersports, and I think it’s early 1950s. Might have non-original crown, but it matches the indices on the dial. Really nice condition, and I think this was a steal at £27. I had this on a terrible strap which is probably why I was reluctant to wear this (it’s amazing how much a strap can affect your view on a watch), but a quick change and I’m feeling better about it. Old Rotary is good, not amazing, but better than your average so anything cheap and functional is probably a good trade-off. They did make an ATP, so they can be very solid. I feel they went off the boil around the 1970s, personally, but that is just my opinion. I am not a fan of modern Rotary, sorry.

The older Rotary logo is just fire. Don’t get me wrong, the eagle is nice enough, but the typeface of this is superb. I like the tarnish pattern on the triangles from the lume pips. This watch is criminally underutilised by me, and I am trying to make amends.

Super sports may mean that the movement has a shock protected balance. Mine does.

Vintage Rotary are spectacular value. Likewise vintage Accurist.

The movement has shock protection; I forget what it is as I’ve not worn it for a while, but I am sure I did not criticise the movement.
