Seiko Alpinist

This watch (for me at least) is the most difficult to get a comfortable look and fit.

I have changed the bracelet back to the strapcode, however I have replaced the clasp with a smaller more compact unit as the other one just felt to big.

Perhaps a change in case back would do the trick? The display one it domes with seems pretty thick

Agree, The exhibition case back adds a bit of bulk to the back in comparison to the original SARB017 Alpinist.

Yes I think you’re right also the glass doesn’t slide on the skin instead seems to stick.

Imo the green Alpinist just screams for a brown leather strap.

👍 definitely a brown leather strap will look absolutely fantastic. Beautiful original Alpinist, it will only increase in value. A classy dark brown strap will enhance the look and will blend in well with the gold hands and numerals 😊

Thanks for the advice. I have tried the original brown strap, Barton brown leather, black leather, original Seiko bracelet, silicone, rubber and this strapcode after changing the oversized clasp for this smaller one. I really like the look of this watch but am constantly shaking my wrist and moving the watch around on wrist and just can’t seem to get comfortable.

What a bummer. I know it can be really annoying if you can’t get the watch right. I am not sure what the solution is. It’s such a lovely watch, would be a shame not wearing it
