Watch Brand Launch Löbner at Bucherer Berlin

Yesterday a new watch brand was launched at Bucherer in Berlin. The brand is exclusively available at Bucherer boutiques around the world for around 14k€.

I have some mixed feelings about the watch…

In the pictures you can see the blue dial watch, there is also a black dial and a complete black PVD case with black rubber strap.

At first the design of the dial, not personally mine, but I it’s something different! The chrono is clearly the focus, the current time is just a „another subdial“. Knowing that the original Löbner brand from the 19th century was a specialist in chronos for races and Olympic Games that makes absolutely sense. I like that the chrono and time is visually separated by the color of the hands.

The case is also special, the pushers are well integrated, the crown protector can be slide up to reveal the crown. The pusher, crown protector and crown felt very good and solid. However the case is pretty big and heavy. And with the light bracelet it is very top heavy.

The bracelet is another thing, it looks and feels like a PRX bracelet, don’t wanna say more. The rubber is quite thin and very flexible.

The base movement is made by La Joux-Perret while the chrono module comes from Dubois Depraz.

So the movement is Swiss, the case German and the assembly is also in Germany, Glashütte. The bracelet seems not to be German or Swiss. The watch has no made in… stamp.

All in all I am not convinced, let’s see what happens. The current brand has absolutely no connection with the historic one. I completely don’t get the thing with the Bucherer cooperation, it seems that Bucherer believes in this brand. For me that means it is worth to watch the development of the brand.

What is your opinion on the watch?

It is not my taste, but we are always richer when we have variety.

Absolutely right, however more options makes it even more difficult to decide which will be the next in the collection ;)
