My 2 Seiko watch-SRPD55k1 or the 5KX

I got myself a used 5KX of of eBay in great condition! I have been enjoying it so far for sure.

Most of my watches so far have been homages, San Martins and the like. I recently decided I actually wanted to get some watches with a bit more originality and a solid history in watch making. So I got an Orient bambino, then a Seiko field watch, and now this guy! I have been seeing that most watch nerds desire the SKX007 over the SRPD’s for their history and since they are discontinued. Me personally, I am pretty happy to have gotten a Seiko.

I think I will go on to try and mod this watch just for fun. I am wanting to see about swapping the insert, chapter ring and crystal.

Any good recommendations for sites to get SRPD compatible mod parts?

Nice find!!

Love this model, and have considered it many times (albeit in blue).

Looks killer on that canvas strap by the way!!

I second Namoki mods. Also try Long Island watch. Owned by a guy named mark who also makes great YouTube videos.

Beautiful 5kx! I must admit that black 5kx model is clean. The color on my pepsi is not as deep and rich as the black one.

Banger watch you got there

Wow, your story sounds exactly the same as mine. I started my journey with a San Martin Sub homage, then a vintage Seiko, then to a Seiko SRPD. Now I own around 20 watches. It only gets worse/better from here. Welcome to my world friend! Hide your wallet! Lol.

Thanks, the canvas is my favorite as the alternative to a bracelet.
