That's the best thing about getting older - you can spoil yourself! Well done and enjoy the nostalgia.

commented on Not the best storage solution ·

I like the concept of the folder being lighter and easy to carry around as my two display watch boxes are bulky and heavy and difficult to carry around easily - well out of the house at least. They are home storage solutions only, personal opinion. But I can't really see any reason why I would want to take all of them out - unless I was going to a watch meet show and tell.

Everyone knows that Casio offer outstanding value for money considering the massive complications that they offer - generally about 5 as a minimum. It makes you wonder why people spend so much more on a Casio than just 50 bucks, but I guess that's coz style, colour, band, look and feel also play a part - possibly prestige and bragging rights, or the knowledge that they have something special and/or limited for some. I own 3 Casio watches, the dearest was AUD$200 but they are not my favourite watches in the collection. I don't own any Seiko 5's coz I sort of feel they have cheaped out, but maybe that was the idea? I guess a beefy looking version would be my choice, or a 2nd hand Seiko or Cot 200m ISO Diver would be my minimum choice. I still feel that they are build to a certain level of quality and are robust enough to last being an every day watch - plus they are my preferred style.

Same as you. The closest thing I have to a dress watch is a Chrono of which I have several. The rest are Diver's, tho I did recently buy a Casio GA-2100 with the Iridescent dial.

Did you say 7002-7001? This is mine from 1992 which I received when I got engaged! Still runs, still keeps usual old Seiko time with it's non-hand winding pre 7S26 movement. One of those that for obv reasons would never sell. Having jewels under the water resistance indicates Japanese made.

commented on Do you shower with your watch? ·

I don't see the point of leaving it on in the shower. A high percentage of mine are 200m so not really worried about water ingress, however the soap scum in the metal bracelet, and the NATO gets wet and cold - and forget the leather! As a side, Marc from Long Island Watch believes that heating it up to hot water temp encourages condensation to come out of the air in the watch. Anyway, do what you want but for me it's a No!
