Dear Traska Owners...

Recently I've been looking into the Traska model range and I think the models are quite nice but as they are a micro brand, I haven't seen one in person.

For owners or people who may have tried them, what do you think to them? What mainstream brands would you say are comparable in quality?

That'sa tough question. I have owned several Traska's and they all have been top quality for what they are (some were NH movements, since were the 9009 series) The hardness coating is no joke. I would put them a step below CW. They are a higher end microbrand.

I don't personally own one but they all have solid specs. Just by specs they're comparable to a Chrostopher Ward or Lorier; higher-end microbrands that typically land 1k or less

For the longest time I wanted a Traska and was attracted to the hardness coating. After lots of research I decided not to do it. For the price, I read a lot of reviews about QC issues. Misaligned indices and date windows mainly. Over the summer I talked to a guy who was selling his brand new Traska on eBay and it had a badly misaligned date window. He showed me close up stock photos that had the same issue.

Love Traska. One of my favorite micros hands down. I have not experienced any of the QC issues mentioned by @lla2891. The newer models are equipped with higher grade Miyota movements at a fairly affordable price. Highly recommend that you give them a try.

I personally love Traska. I originally bought a mint dial Seafarer a month or two ago to test out the product and I fell in love with it so much that I ended up buying three more watches a week later! I did find one slightly misaligned indices on my free diver, but one call to the company, resolved all issues immediately. The owner Jon Mack answered my phone call and we spoke about watches and the industry for around 10 or 15 minutes and he offered to replace my watch and send it out FedEx 2 Day Express and the issue was resolved immediately. (I feel bad for the person @lla2891 spoke to because they could’ve solved that issue with one call to Traska. Heck, anybody with a QC issue shouldve taken the time to reach out and give the company the opportunity to fix it. Hand applied indices will inevitably come with some issues.) The hardening coating however is LEGIT. I’m now using my Traska’s for any work that requires a practically indestructible timepiece. They really are that good. Mine have kept exceptional time too. I’m eagerly awaiting the release of their next batch of Venturer GMT’s as well as a mystery release in December and then an all new 6th model that will hopefully be released next year! Cheers 🥂

I'll go against the grain here and say that I was disappointed in their Commuter. In my opinion, the bracelet felt quite cheap and jangly for a $600 watch; my San Martin bracelet felt MUCH better and it cost 1/3 of the Traska. Also, the lume was quite dim and didn't look the same as the pictures on their website. The deep blue dial in the photos appeared duller and more blue-gray in person. Now, despite all of that, I WOULD have kept the watch if it wasn't for the fact that the bracelet tore my arm hairs out. I give Traska credit; their customer support is excellent and responsive, so they let me return it for a full refund.

It was a real shame; the watch looked superb and had amazing proportions. Their products look amazing and their Miyota movements are excellent. They even addressed their misaligned dial QC issues. I'd still recommend one but just be careful and manage your expectations.

My wife has the orange seafarer and loves it…I wouldn’t hesitate to grab one myself (Freediver?)

·

I own both the Venturer and the Freediver. They are both different enough to not have me grow bored, and sturdy enough for daily wear. Easily stands up quality wise to the mid range like Oris, Mido etc. Reviewed both on my channel if of interest

·

I own a Summiteer and a Seafarer. I have experienced no qc issues with either watch, and both wear very well for me.

·

I have the 36 Summiteer. It’s honestly been great. Hardness coating has been good. Lume has been good and the bracelet is very comfortable. It’s shaping up to be one of my favourite watches.

Do you find their bracelets to be smooth or a boy sharp at the edges? I wish they had a jubilee it beads of rice option!
