If you only had the budget for one

I’ve been in turmoil on what to do for a few days. Take delivery next month of a bel canto I’ve been waiting for a year for! Or buy a super rare unique NOS recent serviced 1960 Zenith Sub Sea, that ill unlikely ever have a chance to purchase again. If you only had the funds to do one or the other. What would you do?

Would have to depend on what the rest of my collection was

The bel canto is more of a statement piece if you already have vintage (or vintage inspired) divers

If you were only going to have one watch, the zenith is more versatile

Both seem dope!

One is I credibly unique and a standout piece. The other is a vintage black diver in a sea of black diver options...

But that's just my take.

In these situations, I honestly toss a coin. When it land is I'm left feeling "well, maybe..." then go the other way. If it's a "thank God!" Then go that way.

Either way you have your answer and a cool watch on your wrist.

I'd go vintage before I went for a watch with an expensive complication that I would never, ever need.

Zenith all the way. Enjoy the Bel Canto from afar.

Do you think the Bel Canto will be something special in 60 years (or even 30y)? That might be your answer.

It's possible that neither of these watches are the right answer.

If it was me, I'd want to take a step back, reflect on what I really want in my collection, and think about saving the money instead.

It's almost never a bad idea to hold onto the money and wait when it comes to purchases like this.

Looking at your collection id go Zenith.

I'm not a fan of the Bel Canto tho, really not my cup of tea.

I’ve had the money for the bel canto set aside for over a year. How much delayed gratification do you want from me😂😂😂😂

Damn good question . I’m not sure. Probably not. Is the zenith special? To most probably not. To me. Yes. So maybe they my answer….
