Good luck!

We're in the same boat it seems!

I need to move a few watches first, but I'm also on the path to my grail.

Is that combo photo your potentials? No luck with the Lunar Pilot?

Let us know how things go tomorrow!

Nice! Are you looking to get both?

I recently picked up the Pagani Speedy to test the waters with a Chrono and to see how I feel about the size. Really to get a sense of whether I'd like the Speedy as a watch, not just an icon.

This little mechaquartz is growing on me, I must say. I'd keep it as a knockabout watch for sure.

Yes then I will own both , the Bulova is awesome , I in a previous post I mentioed that it was actually a chap I met on a watch forum who first put me onto the Luna pilot. After meeting for a beer and trying on his I loved it , but the meteorite dial version just pushed me over the edge as I always had a plan to get the speedy , so could never justify having both. Glad Bulova solved that problem for me 😂

Nice! I'm definitely considering the "reduced" lunar pilot. I'll be celebrating a career milestone next year and looking to add a Chronograph to my collection.

Naturally, the Speedy tops that list.

These are the ones I'm considering thus far:

I'm lucky that I've had the chance to own some cool shit , and I think once the above is achieved a very long break will be on order :)

The speedy is great but if you do get the Bulova instead you will not be disappointed , both stand on there own as great watches tbh

Very true. Each does stand on their own for sure. Much of that will likely come down to fit and feel. The Speedy has been a long-time grail of mine. But if this is to be an end-game watch, then it needs to be the right watch! I'll likely be looking pre-loved or vintage for that.

The speedy I'm getting is pre owned tbf , I think it's been serviced, and tbh I would never want to pay full price for the sapphire version, dnt get me wrong , it's amazing and it looks the dogs pajamas when on the wrist....but it's not the same as the OG and it's just to much long term cost to service.

I had a good laugh when I read it! I couldn't pass up a masterpiece like that!

One bit of advice -- the bracelet on the old speedy (1861 / 1863) is not brilliant, but don't let that turn you off if you don't like it. The speedy wears well on straps, it has many good aftermarket bracelet options, and the new (3861) OEM bracelet also fits the old case.

Good luck

Ty I was thinking about that tbf but I actually dnt mind the older braclet , like you say , worst come to worst I can just purchase the new bracelet :) luckily I have tried on both versions so know what to expect.

I'll be genuinely interested in how this all goes for you. I recently looked at trading some Omegas against another Omega. They wanted a lot for theirs, but wanted to give me almost nothing for mine. A disappointing experience.

But, best of luck with you & yours'!

All very fair and valid points for sure. Are you looking at one with a cal. 1861? I have my eye on the ref. 3570.50.00 myself.
