My love for Citizen
When I first got into dive watches I would only buy Seikos and it became my favorite watch brand fast. Over the years I would pick up Citizen watches here and there and as of today Citizen has grown to be my go to watches in general. I have never been disappointed with any I own and the quality control compared to Seiko is a big factor for me. I love them all though and they all serve a purpose for me on a day to day basis.

I am a husband, a son, a brother and best of all a father of a 2 year old son. Got into watches about 6th or 7th grade and hoping my son someday has the same love for them as I do. I love all time pie...

Yeah, of those two Citizen is the QC winner. I can't speak to their autos, but all of my Eco-Drives are practically flawless in terms of alignments and tolerances. Very solid company!

Yes and people forget what a powerhouse Citizen with their ownership of brands like Frederique Constant, Campanola,La Joux-Perret, Arnold & Son, Bulova. Their quartz modules are used in many high end watch brands like Tag Heuer as well. Really huge company.
I own Citizens exactly because of the reasons you listed. I think Seiko is great, but everytime I have a purchasing decision I go with a Citizen, or Casio over a Seiko. Citizen QC is great, owned some for ~20 years and never a problem, keeps great time and looks great. I have my eye on a fugu...want to dip my toe into mechanicals

My Promaster NY0040 is one of my favorite watches
I have 2 eco-drives. I will never buy nor ask for another. they are both broke and have been repaired twice. and yep, broke again. quality? i think not. Love the looks of Citizens, but if a watch don't work, it's useless.
I really wished mine worked cause I love Titanium (look, feel, etc), but alas, it randomly stops working (or quits totally) even when left in the sun to recharge.
Maybe I just need to move over to the Automatics/Quartzs.

Man I’m sorry to hear that. Definitely try out automatics or quartz.

Now don’t get me wrong, if you pay closer to a grand for a Seiko, it’ll be as good. But if you put an skx007 against an ny0040.. we all know who’s the winner 🤣
