First Time Visiting

Yesterday I visited Watches of Switzerland for the first time. I’ve been to smaller jewelers with nice watch selections, such as Hamilton Jewelers and Clifton Jewelers. I’ve also been to a couple boutiques in Manhattan, such as Rolex and Tissot.

I’m trying to get my wife into watches, so we went to WoS in the American Dream Mall yesterday. I figured it would be a nice place for her to try on watches from numerous watch brands. Unfortunately this location is a bit limited compared to other locations I have seen on YouTube. The most entry level brand they carried was Longines, which is a bit more than I was looking to spend.

My wife did try on an Omega DeVille that she really likes, and I finally had the opportunity to try on an Omega NTTD Seamaster. It was my first time trying on a titanium watch, and I couldn’t believe how light it was! Despite walking out without making a watch purchase, it was still a neat experience to finally visit the store.

I ended up ordering my wife the Tissot Le Locle 20th Anniversary that she likes off of the Watches of Switzerland website for Christmas. The Le Locle is in the second photo that I took at the Tissot boutique in Manhattan last Thursday. She currently has a Kate Spade fashion watch that she bought when she graduated from grad school, her grandmother’s quartz Citizen watch, and a vintage quartz Seiko that I gave to her for our anniversary. So the Tissot is her first automatic watch and her first Swiss watch. I think it will suit her well as a daily watch, especially because she is a speech therapist and works with kids every day… we’ll see what 2024 brings, but there may be an Omega in my wife’s future 🤫

Ahh okay. This was the one in NJ and it seems smaller than their boutiques in other locations. They had a handful of brands, and a small kiosk of vintage watches from AnalogShift. They also had a Cartier and Rolex boutique attached. But the main section of WoS had Longines, Oris, JLC, Omega, and only a few other brands.
