Paranoid watch collecting

I have always been into watches but only recently have I been able to afford "luxury" watches. My luxury collection is small with 9 pieces so far and...

No apology needed. My G-Shock happens to be my flashiest piece. It's the full metal square and it stands out more than any of my other watches!

Great advice....really like the idea of getting a dog. Need to chat with the wife about that one though.

It's good advice. I've seen super heavy free standing safes that weigh in at 1500lb's. Could be another option. Really pricey but the cost for peace of mind has never been inexpensive.

Thanks everyone for your perspective and thoughts.

I don't have any issues wearing a watch but more so about the watches I have at home when I'm not wearing them. My watches are relatively understated and most that are not into watches wouldn't know that my Zenith has some value over my Tissot. I don't flaunt my watches and generally don't discuss watches with anyone unless they ask specifically about what I'm wearing, which rarely happens and usually only with close friends.

For sure insurance. But at best you get replacement value and some of these watches hold meaning to me that I would rather keep than be taken from me....

My issue is really one of security I suppose. A safe just seems like the first place a thief would go to...so a hidden safe?  I do have an alarm system. I do like the idea of getting dog...but presents it's own challenges too.

Anyway, thanks again for all those who responded.

Panerai PAM00098 Radiomir GMT Alarm using the GP59 movement. The alarm is no where as pretty as the JLC Memovox but an alarm nonetheless. The automatic counterweight winds the watch while it rotates in one direction and winds the alarm in the other direction.

Marriage and watches, two often equally debated and discussed topics though should rarely intersect...lol. 29 years is indeed something and an amazing achievement this day and age. Suggest it is worth 4 of todays relationships aka 7 year itch.

Last week, strolled into Las Vegas Duty Free on the way home from a tradeshow looking for a price check on a bottle of Hennessy...poked my head at the very sparce Tissot display and the PRX Powermatic80 Blue dial was starring back at me. Thought I'd look at what all the hype was about it...Yup...not hype. It's a great value piece at that price point...marked down $120 off retail and tax free to boot! Couldn't not buy it.
