Timex Command

Hey people,

Been taking a look at this line of Timex watches, thoughts on them? They look pretty cool and given the current on-going Casio madness I’m thinking about getting something that’s not a G-Shock…

What are your thoughts on these models? Think they’re worth it?

Getting G-Shock vibes here no doubt, especially since they put "shock" right on the watch. Very ill advised but I get it lol! But I do like these designs. What will tell the tale for most people is how robust these watches are.

These are not even the same specs as a basic G-shock but Timex managed to make them larger and overprice these models. I would get something different from Timex and as @foghorn said, the Ironman lineup by Timex offers much better specs and are half the price.

The Timex Ironman, Atlantis, and Expedition lines are better value, and more reasonably sized.

Timex has been writing Shock, as a short hand for shock resistant, on some models since the early 90s at least(maybe earlier), so it's not a new thing.

Interesting, seen some comments about the time keeping being a hit or miss on the Command Encounter, I am mostly interested in the Command 47 though

I currently think they look too much like a G-Shock 2100, But I can see the appeal, they look fairly well built.
