I admit it, I've been influenced

TL;DR:

I just took this little Casio out of the box. I wanted to give a Casio watch a try, I've been very very tempted by the stainless steel model A1000, but me being me, I have no idea if I would even wear it, so I opted to go with this cheaper option first and see how it goes. If it won't vibe with me, no big deal anyway, right? It's a cheap watch.

A bit of a backstory:

I remember that my father had (maybe) an A158 when I was little, I had a Chinese copy of Casio Royale, so there is something nostalgic about these watches.

Additionally, I've seen a lot of these Casio vintage models showcased in a jewelry store window when I was on a vacation during the summer. That triggered something and since then they've been on my mind. The fact that after the vacation, I started binge watching the Mad Watch Collector, The Urban Gentry, Ben's watch club and other YouTube channels talking about Casios, certainly was not helping to alleviate this insanity. I also read some reviews about the A700/A1000, but there are not so many on the internet. I just went completely overboard with the research on a friggin' plastic 50€ watch. This entire paragraph reads like a confession or something.

As of today, the Casio obsession can now simmer down a bit, after two months. It almost feels like relief, you know? Can anybody relate?

I won't even ask if I'm completely crazy, I already know the answer.

Insanity aside, how do you like the watch?

I like the design of it, I like how light, thin, small and unobtrusive it is. The retro aspect adds a lot of charm to it. Looking forward to wearing it.

Very nice... and thin. I have the A168 and this is considerably more slim line.
