A lucky find.

So I’ve been thinking about getting a watch for my son for a little while now. He starts school in a little over a year and I thought that it would be good if he could tell the time before that. The problem is that for a while now the only watch he’s been interested in was my pocket watch.

I didn’t think this would work and have struggled to find anything else he’s interested in. Then we were helping the in-laws clear out the attic and my father in law found this Mickey Mouse watch that used to belong to my wife. My son loves it and after changing the battery it works after about 30 years of dead time (take that quartz haters). This is great as not only have we got my son interested in a kid’s wrist watch I also didn’t need to spend anything on it.
Not trying to start a conversation here just thought this was fun.

I agree I think it’s actually a pretty good first watch for a 5 year old.

Your wife has, or at least had, good taste! I presume that is the original red band. The recessed crystal is child-friendly.

Unfortunately she isn’t really into watches now but I agree she had great taste.
