Hamilton PSR

I just purchased the Hamilton PSR and I love it but I am having to press the side button either more than once or kinda hard for the display to show. Is this common with the watch or should I exchange it since the button might be faulty. Thank you.

Beautiful, I really want one of these. I’m not sure about the side button though

The PSR has a Hybrid LCD/OLED (“Dot-Matrix”) Display, showing digital hours, minutes, and seconds. The LCD is always on, showing the time, while the first press of the only button activates the OLEDs, showing the time in hours and minutes; a second press illuminates the running seconds OLEDs.

Here is the display showing the always on LCD.

Here is the display with the dot matrix OLEDs activated, which is brighter than the LCD display. One of my favorite watches.

Regarding your question on the button, it is known that the button requires a “hard” press for the OLEDs to activate. Also, I’ve noticed that once in a while the OLEDs will not activate after a button press, especially if you are pressing the button quickly, soon after a previous press. I think the display may have to reset before activating again. However, if what you are experiencing seems worse than just a delay after a quick second press or abnormal, then I would consider taking it in.

Thanks for the info. That’s pretty much what I am expecting but if it get worse or something, I’ll take it in.

That's normal for a watch that don't require to set the time every now and then. However if you need to reset the time, just give it a press with a "long hold" every time to set

  1. Hour

  2. Minutes in tens

  3. Minutes in singles

  4. Second

With button press.

Always on display.

Maybe try another one at a shop to see if the button operation is the same?
