@ayadai the white piece is an Apple AirTag for tracking your watch anytime, anywhere.
@BillableHours You make a valid point regarding the 1 or 2 slot case for travel. Given that my own collection is still relatively small, with only four nicer watches that require protection, I'm contemplating shifting my focus to a 4 slot case next.
Thank you for bringing up the concern about the AirTag's speaker / magnet - I hadn't considered that aspect previously. It's an important point, and I appreciate your bringing it to my attention. Given the compact nature of the current case, I had to be inventive in utilizing every bit of available space. In future cases, there might be more room to work with, allowing for better placement of the AirTag away from some sensitive timepieces.
While the foam I'm currently using is dense and not highly porous, I understand the potential for small particles like sand to become trapped. However, it's worth noting that the case remains sealed from external elements most of the time until the lock is opened.
I genuinely value your constructive feedback!
@MaverikMe Thanks! I'll make a note of that!
@tokyo_watch_guy Great question. Vertically, there’s just enough space between the pillow and the top lid (approx. 10mm), and upon closure, the lid compresses slightly. It’s worth noting that the pillow is the component that absorbs the compression the most, particularly when the Air Tag is not present. Horizontally, the watch (up to 44mm, including the crown) fits perfectly into the surrounding foam when the lid is shut. Once securely locked, any potential movement is entirely eliminated.
