You can if you're looking at it through a macro lense! And no you can't tell with the naked eye 😂
Not wanting to doubt you, but if the watch has been modified, how can you be sure that the scratches were from the factory?

Pretty normal on Orient/Seiko/Citizen. At least this one is affordable.

The YouTube channel ‘I Like Watches’ did a video doing macro comparisons between a San Martin and a Rolex. (GMT Master and an homage) Youkd be surprised to learn even the almighty Rolex may not catch everything either.
Every time I tinker with a watch I scratch something. Not on purpose mind you. It’s why I have gone cold on modding my Orient. I especially worry what I would ding if I tired to change the Crystal like you have here. Nice job.

QC issues are a rarity with Orient - unless it's the Mako 40 minute track. 😀

Honestly I don't think it's a QC issue for the price. It's to be expected. I'd just never noticed it before. Which I guess means it's not that bad! 😂
