I like the Tissot because I like my timers, but the Hamilton seems more versatile. It's a hard call.

While I am a chronograph fan, I feel the Hamilton would be the better choice for a first watch - again, this is my personal opinion:

  • You get a watch with a bracelet which is a plus.
  • I am not familiar with either model, but guessing the Hammy will not be nearly as thick as the chrono movement typically demands larger case dimensions.
  • The Hammy will be more flexible with different strap options being simple B&W dial. Tissot has those tiny pops of red so it’s not dramatic. You’ll be able to more easily dress the Hammy up or down, where Tissot feels a bit too sporty.
  • I am guessing the Hammy my have better water resistance? 

Last thing I’ll say is that these are two distinctly different types of watches, so throw all this out the door and just to get what excites you most. 👍

These are 2 completely different watches in style and function.

I have the Hamilton - it looks awesome, wears great - the Best part is the numbers are applied and metal and as you turn your wrist it either goes full torch or blacks out entirely. also it’s a day date which is cool
