My son is in the scouts (in Finland there is no boy/girl scouts) This is their local patrol's emblem. So I painted this dial for him to wear in scouting events. Here is the finished watch build from various parts from my parts bin!
That is cool. Can you do a field watch version with a compass bezel? He can impress his friends with his navigation skills with just a watch and the sun.

Nice idea! I'll keep that in mind! Only minus is that there's not much sun here in Finland right now😂
Well that goes to show how my mind goes to weird tales immediately instead of botany -_-! Do plan to make an entire watch as well or you are focusing on dial art like in this collection?

Dial art is the main thing. I have a lot of watches at home. I buy them from temu or from flea markets. Then I mix and match them together with the dials i've painted. The one I made for my son is put together from parts of five diffrent watches.
Love it! What kind of paint and brush did you use???
The base paint is just metallic blue spray paint. Black part is matt black spray paint. The brush is meant for model painting and the rest is acrylic hobby paint or paint from a spray can.
What a lovely and thoughtful gift. Even if he just likes it a little now that’s ok. When he is grown it will be worth far more than any Rolex or Patek to him. I think it’s amazing. Well done
Fun fact: Finnish scouts are kind of technically girl scouts because they belong to the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. As in every scout in Finland is, in a sense, a girl scout.
The watch is really cool. I wish I could do stuff like that, but with my awful co-ordination with my body and shaky hands, it is unfortunately not possible. 😭

Cheers mate! I've allways enjoyed doing small and fiddly stuff. Here are some other watches that i've painted (the monstera line😂)

Are the ones on the right the eldritch symbol of the Elder Gods from HP Lovecraft?

Nice work.
Does the scout patrol emblem have a meaning - of so, what is it please?
Looks great ! Well done.

Black and gold colors are from Alastaro's (place in Finland) old crest. The barley and leaves represents farming in this area.

Thats heartwarming, and it will be a nice memory for your son as he grows older. 👌🏻👍🏻🙂
