My weird dynamic duo

As folks discuss their most worn watch or top three watches, I realized that my watch wearing habits really boiled down to these two. My batman and Robin. My grail and my beater.

I found myself asking one question in the morning:

"Am I doing something active today?"

If I needed my beater because I'm assembling a crib, going swimming, or chasing kids around a playground.

Or if I'm just relaxing, going out, job interview, or dinner.

They are the most expensive and least expensive watches in my collection, and I love both of them. More often than not, I'm grabbing one of these two.

Agree with the above comment by @fred91. The JLC you have there is great.

Always think the JLC almost looks like a smart watch render of an analogue. Like its back-lit somehow. Pretty amazing

·

Both are in excellent rotation, one for each occasion, I think the black eastern version will arrive in my collection this year.

·

Excellent duo!

How does the JLC wear? At 42mm and with male end links on the bracelet, I fear it would wear really large on my 7” inch wrist. But it is on my short list for this year.

Great mini collection 👏🏻😃

Love that JLC! And orient is a perfect beater 💪🏻

The male end links don't do much to add to the lug to lug.

And my 7 1/4in wrists handle it fine. I enjoy 42mm watches though, so ymmv

I love this watch. And my poor photography skills don't do it justice. In fact, it gets better under a macro lens.

I Have the rubber strap and the bracelet. Both are amazing. My brother has the omega seamaster 300 pro and he contends that the bracelet for it is good. Then he tried my jlc bracelet and said "ok... yeah, I get it now....THAT is a nice bracelet."

Never thought I'd see someone consider their Orient Batman 😜

I like bigger watches too, as long as the lug to lug isn't over 50-51mm. I have a Citizen Orca that is 46mm but only 50mm lug to lug. I also have a Seiko Tuna that is 43mm, but only 45mm lug to lug.

When Tim Mosso reviewed this watch (that's the Mariner Date, correct?) He said that the lug to lug was either 49 or 50mm if I recall, but he said the male end links took it to almost 55mm if memory serves. Your photo begs to differ.
