Dismembering Boeing

I wonder about this story of on-flight dismembering Boeing : when the loss of pressure occurred, did anyone lost the crystal of its watch ?

And were there among the passengers some watch nerd who stood up in the middle of the mess showing its IWC : "see? the crystal holds out!"

Not sure but perhaps some watch nerd might use the GMT hand to figure out which direction they were headed with a good clear view of the outside?

Jokes aside, imagine being the guy sitting next to that hole up in the air.

Lesson learned : window side, keep your seat belt fastened.

Don't think anyone can possibly disagree with this now.

I also wonder what's the temperature got inside...

At this altitude, it must have been very cold, but no one seems to talk about it.

Oh yeah. Boeing blamed their subcontractor but turns out that hole is intentionally left there for Boeing to install just about everything internal; chairs, carpets, the stuff to heat food, everything. They're supposed to install and check everything with internal QC inspectors, seal the hole and check internal pressure up to (I forgot if it was 130% overpressure or 300% overpressure).

If I read the report correctly I think the seat next to the hole was sucked out of the plane but it was unoccupied at that time.

Thanks @watchdawg for helping me decide to never take the window seat again.

"My crystal held out but the brutal variation in temperature made my watch to lose 3 seconds per day!"

(l would definitely have loved to be that watch nerd stuck in that plane)

Horrifying. Apparently it was a young boy whose shirt got sucked right off of his body. Talk about terror.

NB: apparently the seats right by the gaping hole were empty, thank goodness!

But the boy did have this happen. I hear that his phone made an unscheduled trip to the ground, which is a small price, all things considered.

I will not board one of those Boeing jets. Remember the Comet? It was an early jetliner that tore itself apart midair. If that old nightmare doesn’t help us gather our wits, what will? We can’t just trust Boeing on blind faith because of past triumphs.

Something is very wrong at Boeing these days.
