Longines Legend Diver

Hi guys, I’m currently looking towards buying my first proper watch. I think the LLD is a great option but I really would appreciate it if anyone who has owned one would give me their personal insight and opinions on the watch. I am a scuba diver so can this watch actually handle the ocean like the original? Can I wear this as my daily driver? Is this watch durable so I don’t have to worry every time I bump into something? And finally, can this go with a suit?

You cant go wrong with a Longines. Fabulous watches. 👌

What’s your budget?  With you mentioning that you scuba dive on the regular, I’m assuming that you are planning on taking this watch in the water with you.  Depending on how deep you plan on going and how far the budget will stretch, you may want to look at a Tudor Pelagos, which has a 500M WR rating to the LLD’s 300M.

Yes to all but maybe not in the most formal dress settings. Be aware that the 42mm wears large due to the internal bezel and wide lugs. I've had both 42 & 37mm and prefer the smaller size for my 17cm (6.75 inch) wrist.

LLD hold some of the best value for the $$. As @IanCognito pointed out, I recommend trying one on first though. The dial/bezel creates a bit of an optical illusion that can appear larger on smaller wrist.

Look on the secondary market and get the nicest one you can afford.  You can wear it on mesh, nato, leather, rubber etc.  The sailcloth strap that Longines originally supplied with the watch is awesome; it is sailcloth on the outside and a soft wetsuit type material on the inside.

I would also argue that it is a strap monster.  You can dress it up with black leather or wear it very casual.

Don't forget to screw down both crowns before you enter the water.  I like the watch very much and I think the gradient colors make a statement.  It would probably make a good "Go Anywhere, Do Anything" watch.

thanks for your feedback. what’s your verdict on the internal bezel? Better than a standard unidirectional bezel? And why does the internal bezel turn both ways?
