A little help? like this simple 36mm but w a date

I'm looking for a simple travel watch, under $500. I like the overall look of this as a guide but I like a date when traveling (though I don't really want to know what day it is per se, I'm on vacation after all.). This would also alternate with my Christopher Ward C63 36mm.

Not averse to big brands nor micros. Field watch faces tend to feel too "busy".

Thanks in advance.

How about another British brand; the Christopher Ward 36mm Sealander.

Dates are overrated! You don’t wanna deal with all that. 😆

Thanks, but that's the watch I have on the Bader bracelet. I was looking for something in that vein, and size but that is worth less, maybe even a little thinner. I'm fine with Quartz, or better yet solar, in this application.

Yes, rather "anti-vacation" ...unless you need to remember to get the plane. 😉

For me, I just posted this in WRUW, the Citizen Eco Drive. Might be worth a look.

If you’re okay with quartz I’d look towards Tissot. There’s the PR100 in 34mm

And the Seastar in 36mm

Quartz really does open this up.

British military issue. 👍🏻

I think honestly that this Farer is probably going to be the best looking watch under these parameters. And they have super high build quality 🩶

You do not need a date - ever. (You have phone/mobile/cell whatever you call it if you are that obsessed, or your own intelligence, gasp). You do not need a spinning seconds hand - no one needs to know the time to the seconds in the real world, outside of a laboratory. Once you've embraced those truths everything becomes a lot simpler. Two hands good, three hands mad.

·

that Farer looks great! If you're looking for something a little different, I'd suggest the Nodus Sector GMT (https://www.noduswatches.com/sector-gmt). Get it on the bracelet, grab a strap, and you can easily dress it up or down.

Agreed, it's a lovely watch, why I'm using it as a design guideline, but it run around $995 so doesn't meet my "less than $500" travel watch criteria.

Just a little bit higher.

Your watch is already perfect. Date windows are for smart phones

Well....that's an excellent dressier option, though all the Orients are the more modern sizes that aren't as good for my wrist.

Well, if it doesn't have to be blue. Ashford is offering the Hamilton Intra-matic at a huge discount. I know they have the date, but if you can get over that part I think you'll like it. The one thing that made me send mine back was that they don't have a second hand, so keep that in mind. You can get one for under $300

Here's the solution. An eBay'd, now out of production Vaer C3 Atlas Quartz (36mm, 43mm, 20mm lugs, 8.5mm thick).

It's nearly identical in layout/inspiration to my CW C63 Sealander and I was able to snag it for less than $200 shipped. Should be here by the end of the week. A fresh battery and a resized bracelet and it should be a dependable travel companion.

Someone suggested one of these above so in the end, you all solved the challenge with me! Thanks!

Traska Commuter 36mm fits the bill - it is right around $500.

36mm Commuters don't have a date, have gone up to $620 ...and as is often my experience in my interest in Traska....is out of stock with a "notify me when available" button on the black face version.

I really like this brand but to do this micro brand thing, with Traska, Farer, Vaer...you seem to need to be willing for their production schedules to overlap with your buying window.

I had not realized it had went up in price, what about a Citizen Tsuyosa? It comes in at 40mm, but wears a tad smaller than the integrated bracelet let's on - I own the rose gold, red dial and have a 6.25in wrist

I have seen these in stores too, so you could try one on and see if you like it.

A good choice but I found a used Vaer C3, almost a twin to the CW C63 36mm. It should be here Friday and we’ll see what we think then.
