CWC SBS Diver

Wearing my new CWC Diver. Feels really cool to wear something with much history and actual military use.

After traveling in South and Central America, I bought this watch to have something more discreet and under the radar to wear while traveling in dangerous areas, or in countries where petty crime is more prominent.

What are your go to watches for high risk areas? For me it will be this watch and my Casio F-91W which is really the ultimate low risk watch.

Nice! I’m curious, I haven’t had the CWC long enough to wear in more dangerous countries. Have you ever felt it was still to nice for certain areas? After getting it in person it definitely feels like it looks every bit I paid for it.

For example, I was in São Paulo recently for a few weeks and I would say most areas on the street I only felt comfortable wearing my Casio, even in nicer neighborhoods while on the street.

What’s your feeling/experience been with the CWC in regards to not making yourself a target?

I’ve had no issues at all. 99% of the time ( with the exception of my Rolex watch) no one even notices I’m wearing a watch and if they do don’t know what a CWC is. I think you can easily wear it with no issues in my opinion. I’ve worn it in big cities where watch crime is an issue ( SF and LA for example ) and I live in Houston which is a hot bed for watch crime and I’ve never felt in danger wearing this at all.

When I went to Cape town for a holiday I bought a MWC from a site that sold seconds

But I did own this for a while for work

Very solidly built watch

Wow I am really glad to hear that! It's a very cool watch and I'm excited to put it to use on my travels. Thank you for sharing those insights.

Both solid watches 🙌 you had no issues in Cape Town with the MWC?

No problems at all but we did stay in the tourist parts and did only go on organised tours

Really nice CWC! I love how tactical it looks.

I typically bring with me a Casio or G-Shock when traveling to sketchy areas. They’re trendy and cheap, so I don’t mind beating one up or losing it.
