New Panerai Quaranta

Hi!

Panerai just released a 40mm Luminor. I kinda like it! I think it probably wears bigger than a typical 40mm watch, since it’s all dial, it has a square-ish case, and it has that crown protector. 22mm lugs make it wear large as well. So for me, you have the Panerai vibe, which I like, without the loudness.

Such a quiet release. What do you guys think?

With my 7 inch wrists, some would argue the 42mm versions would work best. Maybe that’s true.

Personally, I love the new release. Always have loved some of their design but the size simply was an issue since it, unfortunately, was uncomfortable on my wrists, this hopefully will sit better on the wrist. Or better yet hopefully not so I can keep my money ;) Regarding your last point. In my personal opinion, I believe that personal preference and/or the shape and size of your wrist as well as the shape of the watch case is more important when determining which size watch fits which wrist. It's might be difficult to standardize wrist sizes to watch sizes since everyone does not have an identical wrist shape, and not every watch case is comfortable on every wrist shape.

Wow that is nice! I didnt even follow Panerai because I knew I would never wear one that big. But the 40 looks amazing and I know the 38 is likely geared towards women but I like that one too!

I would like to see better than 100m water resistance

I think they’re great. Would love to see a no date version and no running seconds for an ultra clean and classic look, but I’ll take this as a good start. Part of the reason I sold my 176 titanium was the size. Now have a Radiomir 1940 574 at 42mm on my 6.75” wrist and it’s perfect. I think these will wear well on a a variety of wrists at 40mm!

Anyone know if these have a screw down case back or the new snap tight caseback?
