Traveller vs Office GMT

I find myself needing a quick set date more than a quick set local hour. So I'm leaning towards office or caller GMTs.

It’s personal preference for whatever suits your lifestyle

I have both, but if what you need more is quick date adjustment, the office is yours, this is office and i love it

It depends on your use, but for most I suspect an office GMT is more practical.

I had my Strat-o-timer with me on my last work trip, and the quick-set hour was handy, but when I'm at home going through my watches I find the lack of a quick-set date annoying, which means it doesn't get worn as much as some of my other watches.

Having owned a traveler GMT, I personally found it a pain to change the date. As a one-watch option or daily wear, they’re fine.

I’m actually selling my Jack Mason Pepsi GMT if you’re interested simply because I’m not a fan of the traveler GMT.

Have both and rarely travel.

The travelers is def more annoying (also worries me a bit as I sometimes have to manually engage the date mechanism a lot from a cold start).

·

A caller GMT is more practical for my usage. Never understood the snobbish attitude towards "true" and "false" GMT. 🙄

·

Get what works best for you. I find "caller" GMTs much more convenient and the benefit of a "traveler" GMT is overblown.

I've often traveled to other time zones with my "caller" GMTs and they work just fine to track two time zones while traveling. They are only marginally less convenient to set when the plane lands. Regardless of which type you use, you should have the hands reset before the plane reaches the gate.

Is there a GMT without a date?

Honest question.

I don't travel, I don't call. However, I change timezones twice a year (cursed DST!), so traveller is perhaps better.

Yes, some GMT Vostoks are dateless.

Did not know that, might be the real answer

I believe the Vario Empire GMT (traveller’s GMT) with the Myota 9075 does not have a date

Might be a ghost date, or perhaps they removed the calendar works.

I would only buy a traveler GMT if it had a rotating bezel. Traveler GMTs just aren’t relevant to my lifestyle. I have a few friends in the military, so I’m using my bezel all the time.
