Omega Servicing

So I dropped off my SMP 2254.50 to be serviced at the Omega Boutique in NYC. I was given an estimated wait time of 6-8 months which I thought was a very long time but I’m willing to wait if it actually does take that long. The representative advised me there is a possibility it could come back much sooner than that but those are the estimated wait times nowadays. The only thing I requested besides the basic servicing and polishing was a new crystal so I’m hoping it won’t take the full 6-8 but we’ll see.

I was curious if anyone here has had experience with Omega servicing within the past year and what your wait time was?

I dropped my SMP 2220.80 off last January at my AD for service. I got the watch back in mid-May, so that timeframe doesn’t seem unrealistic. I only had service done, no polishing

Good to know at least. I wonder what the cause is for the long turnaround time. I recall reading somewhere that it used to take 8 weeks.

I had a bad experience with an Omega service. I cracked the crystal on my Omega Speedmaster and brough it to my local jeweler who is not an authorized Omega dealer. Took about three months to get it back. Shortly after I got it back condensation appeared behind the crystal. Brought it back in - another three months - and it happened again! I was able to connect with one of the USA Service Executives and he shepherded it through the last service and no problems since. What a PIA!

Man I can’t imagine the level of frustration you must’ve been through. That’s something that is always in the back of my mind as mine is being worked on. You hear horror stories even from authorized service centers sometimes. I’m glad you finally got yours back in top shape!
