Review Seiko Cocktail Time Negroni

Let's get this part out of the way. I like this watch but I don't love it. I thought I'd love it. There's no reason I can put my finger on to say why I don't love it. I just don't.

It shipped with a decent leather band with a deployment clasp and quick spring bars to easily change it on a whim. It looks good and is comfortable to wear during the day.

The watch itself is listed as being 41mm but somehow feels smaller. Shown below on my 6.25" wrist

The dial looks good with its patterned surface and applied indices and brand name. "Pressage Automatic" appear to be printed.

I appreciate the black date background which keeps the date visible without being obtrusive.

The 4R35B movement has been extremely accurate and hasn't needed resetting in the month I've owned it.

I'd have no qualms recommending one to someone looking at them.

Honestly I think it looks better in the lighter color you’re showing then the one I bought.

The Frozen Margarita is “limited edition” and almost twice the cost of the Negroni.

I have a Blue Moon Cocktail Time and the strap it's on plays a huge role in how I feel about it on any given day. For mine at least, somewhat casual black leather straps work best in my opinion. Doesn't do it for me most of the time on the bracelet

I think this would have had a better dial either with no numerals or small Roman numerals. The large Arabic numerals do not suit the pattern on the dial and look a bit cheap and awkward. Maybe gold hands and indices would look better too and smaller lettering. Apart from that, the case should have a triple stepped rounded surround to give it some class. See pic of classy Omega De Ville below.

The cocktail models with the numerals on the dial are 38.5mm and not 41mm. So it makes sense you find it smaller.

I have this and like it a lot! Some Cocktail Times are 41mm but this one is 38.5. I think the dial is great the way the texture shines with direct light and it is a very nice shade of red that isn’t used much in watches. Great watch for the price.
