My next Dive watch ??

I’ve been on the search now for about 4 months for my next watch acquisition, and I think I found it. Sherpa is a revival of the Enicar brand - and this is the super compressor that really makes me excited. Any of you have any hands on experience with this watch ? https://sherpawatches.com/ I’m looking for something a bit outside the box from the typical dive watch usual suspects - let me know what you all think !

Enicar is one of my favorite vintage brands and its awesome to see the brand revived. The quality looks great but I can't abide the $6,000 price tag for what it is. I love the design of these too.

Yeah the watches look nice but really overpriced. When you think that you could get these titanium compressors from Farer for less than €2000.

And same with this Christopher Ward.

I’ve got the Farer Leven II Titanium and can attest to the fact that the watch is great and Christopher Ward’s reputation is great and they’re going to be producing that carbon Diver for the Royal Marines. All these watches use a similar Sellita SW200 movement albeit without the date complication. So why the massive price difference? I just can’t see it.

I agree they are overpriced , but that argument could be made on about 99% of all watches lol. The reworked Selita is a big issue. However in looking at this the founder is using 100 % Swiss and German sources , manufacturing, assembly ect. Also, I think the cost of research is being passed on to the consumer. I love the vintage Enicar Ultradive but they are hard to find and usually in poor condition. I’m really torn as I have the means but to your point the movement is really not worth it but the total package still speaks to me. I’m also not a huge micro brands for the most part - I struggle to connect with many of the brands. Thanks for your perspective as it does give me more to consider!

I feel the same. But , as a watch enthusiasts and collector most of my decisions are the emotional aspect and not the practical 😂

After reading that I think I’d get it if I was in your place. We want what we want and if you can do it comfortably than there’s nothing to worry about. All of these watches are luxury items that we really don’t need, so I say go for it.

The Sellita movement is fine I’ve got several watches with it, I just don’t think it’s worth mentioning as much as they do as it’s really just a standard Swiss movement.

Good luck either way and sorry if I was a bit harsh on it. They are nice looking watches.
