Seiko SKX007 I don't know what it is!!! Share Your Story 🙏🏽

This Seiko SKX007 doesn't see the wrist time it deserves.  But once I put it on my wrist I'm absolutely STUNNED.  WatchCrunch Fam! What is it?!?! 🤔

Groupthink... combined with a marginally competent watch.

I know that comes across as harsh, but hear me out. The SKX is a pretty "meh" watch when you look at it objectively, but it is a massive hit in the watch community. Wearing a watch that generates near universal praise is always something that will feel good, so it makes sense that the SKX does that for you.

Before the nay-sayers jump in, posting the watch isn't required for the feeling to occur. The feeling of satisfaction can come simply from knowing that others approve of your watch.

We all do it to a degree, but some watches are more obvious than others.

Despite the jangly bracelet and annoying no-hack/no-hand-wind movement it’s a solid little watch. It gets a lot of love from me, especially since Seiko have decided, without any actual merit whatsoever, that they are too good for the low end of functional dive watches, now. 5KX indeed lol 😂 SKX-Strong! 💪

despite the movement which lack hacking and handwinding i think skx is a very good watch. and there are plenty modding part which made it more interesting 😍

@synaptyx I installed an aftermarket oyster bracelet...I don't get that jangle.  Thanks for the share!  I'm glad the dude that owned this 20 years ago didn't pay his debt.  That's a story that I can't disclose on this platform 🤣

@Unholy Thanks for the comment...Bro!  The aesthetics of this watch is just spot on.  I wish I had the patience to mod this watch. Unfortunately, I have heavy hands like a gorilla.  I know my strengths and weaknesses LOL 👊🏽

I think the SKX is the Glock 19 of automatic watches. One Caveat: The Glock gets higher marks for QC. Both are reasonably priced,  lots of value for the money, look cool and are workhorses. An SKX on a rubber strap feels great on wrist. The watch has a classic diver watch look. There aren't many watches that feel and look so awesome on wrist for the money. This piece is more than a cult classic.  I don't know anyone in collecting that doesn't smile when they see an SKX on a wrist

@TimeJunkie WOW! Well said ... I completely agree. Thanks for the comment 👊🏽🍻
