Superocean II owners: Should I have the bezel replaced?

I'm about to bring my Superocean 44 to a boutique to send off for service and authentication paperwork. I wondering I should have the bezel replace with new one.

I actually never gave it a second thought until other watch guys told me my bezel is supposed to be "vulcanized", or have a rubber coat on it. They also told me the shape "5" on the 15 and 45 were odd. As the pip on the is an "outie" instead of an "innie"

I have taken it to the Breitling store. They were able to confirm serial numbers and where it was purchased. They said the bezel was likely a polishing job.

Since I'm having it serviced anyways, should have the bezel replace? Is the new bezel gonna be rubber? Does the rubber actual look good vice having it sanded off?

Breitling guy, please assembled 🙏

The first thing that comes to mind is the question of the case condition versus the bezel. If the case is in pristine/polished condition and a brand new bezel would match that look, then sure.

I guess if it was the opposite situation of having a rather beat up case and a brand new bezel sitting atop that, I would find that combo rather weird.

You wrote that you didn’t notice this until someone else told you about it. A. I suggest finding less critical friends 😜, and B. Unless it’s really driving you crazy, it wasn’t a factor until someone else pointed it out. It’s not a brand new watch, and I view this as part of the watches journey. You can always replace the bezel later.

That bezel screams "FAKE!" Not to mention the dial layout is incorrect.

Send it in to Breitling and let's see if it gets sent back. I have a sneaking suspicion it will wind up in a shredder.

Hope you didn't pay more than $50 for it.

For your sake, I hope I am wrong but based on the pics, me thinks you got screwed.

Like I previously noted, i did have the Breitling boutique personnel take it to the back and have run the serial numbers. Also, against my better judgement, open the caseback and looked at the movement. Which has Breitling's engraved markings on it. That's a lot of trouble for a fake. Do you think they put a real Breitling movement in a fake watch? Or did they go through the trouble of dressing up a fake movement to put in a caseback that not see through?

Agree with Mr. Love that the bezel is an absolute mess. Just do a google image search and compare with the real deal.

If the "experts" at the boutique missed such a glaring tell I'd be suspect of anything they told you.

I've just dropped it at the Breitling an hour ago to be sent of for servicing. I'll get cal in January for the charges. And I was told to expect at least 7 months for completion. So, we'll find out soon enough

Read up on Breitling "super fakes." They hit the rep market some years back and are so well faked that they weren't discovered until sent in to Breitling for repair. Scary well done.

I've already sent it off. I don't know good reading on fakes is do.🙄
