The Marlin Automatic Sub-Dial brings a modern-retro update to our 1960s Marlin. Pops of brilliant blue and riveting red highlight its sleek design, creating a contemporary style that’s sharp enough for any outing. Sophisticated details abound, including a full Arabic dial, date feature, 24-hour format sub-dial at the 9 o’clock position, and a stainless-steel case in a curved cushion shape. The Japanese automatic movement is showcased through an exhibition case back which bears the Marlin name and a detailed etching of the iconic marlin fish. The full Marlin name also graces the dial and crown to honor not only our watchmaking legacy, but the ever-evolving style of this suave ‘60s icon. Timex
Just from the pictures, I like the look. The case has some nice-looking polished and brushed surfaces but I'd need to see it in person. It's a Japanese automatic, so I am hoping for a Seiko but being Timex it might be a Miyota or something else. I don't see the need for the hour subdial. I would have preferred a sub-seconds dial or even a date dial instead of the date window. I like the blued hands. What do you think?
#EOWW (Equal Opportunity Watch Wearer). 7.25" wrist. Since I was a kid, I loved watches. My first watch was an Armitron digital chronograph. I've always had watches since but didn't really appreciate...
I liked the case but that’s a bout it…
I think it looks pretty nice. I have a Marlin and it’s a nice enough watch. I don’t wear it super often but I like it. This is a very different looking watch but it’s nice.
If I squint, it reminds me of one of my grails: GS SBGV245. Will have to drop in on it a few times more to see how I feel.

I see the resemblance.👍
I love the look. One thing about the 24-hour hand that is extremely useful: When you're setting the watch, you'll know whether it's AM or PM, which will help you (in turn) to set the date properly.

I hadn't thought of that. I am so used to moving the time forward until the date turns over. 😂

That's a great point. I was a little confused why anyone would want a 24 hour dial that displays the same time as the main dial, but that could be a reason! Mostly, I just find it weird that none of the subdials in the product pics display the correct time....
