Keep the Cartier -- at least for now. They seem to be exploding in popularity all of a sudden. Increased popularity means increased demand. Increased demand means increased prices. Which means you will probably be able to get more for it later, than if you dump it now.

let me safe that gif real quick for your upcoming "should I trade xyz" posts 😄
It is really funny that all of us are looking for a way to convince ourselves to do something.
Steven Levitt had this really fascinating experiment in which he had people come to a website, describe what they were 50/50 about changing.
Should I quit my job?
Should I break up with my SO?
Should I move to X city?
And, you had to fill out this survey on happiness, etc. And, then, you had to click a button that flipped a virtual coin. Heads - make the change. Tails - stick with the status quo.
Thousands upon thousands of people came to the site and did it.
6 months later, they followed up with people, and they filled out the same happiness survey, along with whether they'd made whatever change or not.
People who made the change were significantly happier than people who hadn't!
What this should indicate is that "status quo bias" is a real thing, and while it's been programmed into us for evolutionary fitness, it can in modern society reduce utility significantly.
When we contemplate some sort of change - should I trade in X for Y - we're programmed to be cautious and to stick with the status quo, for fear of a lion hiding right behind the next bush, should we deviate from the status quo. So, what do we do? We look for social proof. We turn to others and ask, "Should I trade X for Y? And should I take Path B, even though I've never taken Path B, and there might be a lion hiding in a bush on Path B? There isn't a lion there, right?"
Oh, I think this is the incorrect trade. I would not make this trade 100% of the time.
The SBGA427 is the carbon copy of your SBGA429 with a different dial color and different second hands. If you're going to trade in the santos dumont for a GS, I'd go with something rather different than what you already own.
Ouch. See, among the watches I really want to have are the Santos, and something with a spring drive. Sadly I have to fall back on the old standby...wear what you love! If the Santos isn't doing it for you, give it the boot.
EDIT: Wait, did I see that you have a similar watch already? If that's the case, my advice stands, but I'll add you're even more of a nut than I previously thought.

100% spot on!!!
@Ichibunz, variety is the spice of life! Get any one of these instead, man!
If it's spring drive you're looking for, there are nearly 40 different models to choose from!
Please tell me this isn't true! Somebody take his Santos away right now, he doesn't deserve it!
In all seriousness, I'd say asking this question means the OP just isn't that into the Santos. And while that's completely crazy, it's also ok. But still really weird. Like really, really weird.

Joking aside…my collection tends to have the dark and light side and most times It’s either the same watch in a different color scheme, to “Bring Balance!!” 🤓 I guess I’m A real life…

No, no, no... in real life, there's a different word we use for that condition...

You asking means...
... what you want / will do!!!
It depends on which Cartier and which GS, but I’m partial to GS, so I would do the trade.
What models are we talking about here?
Also, for the love of God, don't do anything because the internet told you to.

Lol @Aurelian the voice of reason 😁
would not trade that Cartier for that GS. would have to be a better GS for me to consider.
