Bad Watch Dad

Was driving home last night and the windows fogged and the smell of antifreeze was unmistakable. Threw this on this morning for repair/clean-up duty. First time in many months the Ranger has been off my wrist. I miss my other watches but the Ranger is just perfect for 99% of what I do. Anyone else have either one watch, or one watch they wear the majority of the time and neglect all the others? Am I a bad watch dad?

Does your wrist still smell like antifreeze?

What happened, did the heater core leak?

It didn’t leak, it gushed!

That's no fun. I hope you have a car/truck where the heater core is somewhat accessible w/o taking half the dashboard apart.

Thanks for the well wishes, unfortunately, I have to disconnect all kinds of stuff and pull the dash.

Sorry to hear that. I had to do it once, but I was lucky in the sense that it was a Porsche, with no engine in the front, which meant easy access to the heater core once the windshield wiper assembly and the battery were removed.

My brother! I just walked in from the shop where I was adjusting the brakes on my trailer. This watch on a single pass adjustable NATO is my knock around get dirty set up. I did have to swap the crystal for a domed inner AR Saphire. Now it’s virtually indestructible.

I just walked inside from replacing front control arms and anti roll bar links on my bmw. Though I usually take my watch off for automotive work if I have to reach in tight spaces.

I feel your pain. Not looking forward to pulling the dash.

Ugh. I wish you the best of luck mate. Hopefully the wiring loom isn’t too much of a mess under there.

That’s the only thing I haven’t had to do to the bmw so far… lol

I wear one watch more than the others because the purpose of that watch arises more than the purposes of the others. My GSAR is my daily wear and will stay on for a lot of physical chores, Khaki Auto is for dressing up a little or slipping under elastic cuffs, and my G shocks are for really dangerous work to mechanical movements, Rangeman for short sleeve days and square for sleeve-over-watch days. Never really had a rotation, but I'll occasionally toss on one of the others to daily for a day or two to mix things up a little.

I wear either my Casio F105

Or my GShock G100 for daily shores. My mechanical and vintage pieces are for work, or going out.
